        How accurate are the calculations?
        
All planetary positions are computed using the Swiss Ephemeris library with Lahiri Ayanamsha -- the same engine used by professional Jyotish software. Positions are accurate to arc-second precision. Festival and Panchanga dates are astronomically computed, not from lookup tables.

      

      

        How does PanchangaAPI compare to RoxyAPI on price?
        
RoxyAPI charges $39/month minimum for their starter plan. PanchangaAPI has a free tier (2 requests/day, forever) and pay-per-use at $0.03/credit with no minimum commitment. For low-to-medium volume, PanchangaAPI is significantly cheaper. For very high volume, per-request costs are comparable.

      

      

        How do AI agents access PanchangaAPI?
        
Two ways: (1) MCP Streamable HTTP -- add the server to Claude Desktop, Cursor, or any MCP client. (2) Standard REST -- register for an API key and call endpoints with the X-API-Key header.

        What Vedic systems are supported?
        
PanchangaAPI supports Parashari (traditional), Krishnamurti Paddhati (KP System), and Tajaka (Varshaphal) systems. Calculations include Lahiri Ayanamsha, Vimshottari Dasha, Ashtakoot compatibility, Shadbala, all 16 Vargas, Prashna (horary), and 300+ Yoga combinations. Both North Indian and South Indian chart styles are supported.

      

      

        Is the free tier really free forever?
        
Yes. The free tier gives 2 requests per day across all 26 endpoints, forever, with no credit card required. Register with email or Telegram and start using the API immediately. When you need more, top up with NOWPayments crypto checkout or Telegram Stars.

      

      

        What about data privacy?
        
PanchangaAPI does not store birth data or query parameters beyond what is needed for request processing. No analytics tracking, no third-party data sharing. API keys and account data are stored in an encrypted SQLite database.

      

      

        Can I self-host PanchangaAPI?
        
PanchangaAPI is a managed cloud service. The API at api.moon-bot.cc provides the calculation engine, payment layer, MCP transport, and infrastructure -- all maintained and updated for you. No self-hosting needed.
